If nobody has this before, it might be a good idea. However, it would seem easier if you could create your own software and get in on the web with your own URL but make it something clients have to pay for. The idea of a stranger coming into my house to see my valuables makes me feel uncomfortable.
References :
None so far.

Video tape the contents as a start . Then you can make your list and ask the client to provide the details. Perhaps during the taping you could ask questions about the items and get a lot of the information that way.

Getting the particulars about how a customer's insurance policy would base the value on objects before you start would be helpful. Some pay replacement costs some pay for the depreciated costs. Some will not pay for anything below the main floor level.

Then you can determine what is most important to record for the individual client. Age , original cost ,expected lifespan, resale value , etc.

Also check if there are additional riders for items not generally covered.

Maybe a questionnaire that the customer could fill out before you start would help you know before you arrive what information you need to focus on for them .

Think about being a professional and knowledgeable about what you are doing to give the best impression.

Maybe try making a brochure that describes your service and making additions until everything is covered would be a help.
